Planning Commission Public Hearing

The Culver City Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing beginning at 6 PM on May 1, 2024.  The purpose of the hearing is to modify one of the Conditions of Approval of the Haystack Butte Subdivision.  This is a modification of the deadlines for filing the Final Plats of the Phased developments of the Subdivision.  This is the sole topic of this Public Hearing.  The Final Plat of the 1st phase of the Subdivision is currently due May 16, 2024.  New legislation by the City of Culver has amended the current timetable by adding another three years, on a one year at a time basis, for filing final plats of subdivisions and partitions.  The Haystack Butte Subdivision contains 43.38 acres and was approved to create 162 residential lots in seven phases. The Applicant and Developer is Woodhill Homes.  The Property is owned by Jack and Cheryl Ickler and is described as Tax Lot 300 of Jefferson County Assessor’s Map 12132. The original approval by the Culver Planning Commission was granted on May 18, 2022.

A copy of the original approval and all other information related to this proposal is available for review at no cost at the City Hall, and copies of the application and all other information concerning the application, can be supplied at a reasonable cost. If a staff report is prepared, it will be available for review seven days before the hearing and also can be supplied at a reasonable cost. The public hearing process begins with the staff report, followed by testimony from the applicants and any other supporters of the application. This will be followed by testimony from opponents to the application. Finally, a rebuttal by the applicant will be allowed.  Failure to provide sufficient specificity about an issue that allows the decision makers to address that issue may preclude an appeal to the City Council and, ultimately, the Land Use Board of Appeals. The public hearing portion of the procedure will then be closed and the Planning Commission will consider the information and testimony received and may render a decision. Written testimony will be received until 3 p.m. May 1, 2024, at the Culver City Hall.  Oral testimony will be received during the hearing. All interested are urged to attend.
